I am interested in making some carts for myself using Coleco released common carts. So I am wondering if anyone has a working method for label removal.

Hair dryer works ok, sometimes. To me it is like either different adhesives were used or the conditions that the carts where stored in has effected the adhesive. So there is variation.

But my question is does anyone have a method that works well consistently. While I know it is fun to throw guesses out there, like lighter fluid, gasoline, sanding, alcohol, it would be best if actual working comments where posted.

Well, I won't claim to be an expert, but I have had consistently good results with the combination of a few of the aforementioned methods.

I do believe in the hair dryer method, but occasionally you'll hit an especially craggy patch of glue that may tear the paper. What I do is saturate a Q-tip with either Goo Gone or alcohol, and apply this by dabbing it down in between the label and the cart as I'm gently peeling back the label. I'm careful not to saturate the label while trying to keep the liquid on the plastic side. It may take three arms to do this sometimes, but that's where a girlfriend comes in handy.

I was wondering how to justify the girlfriend when the wife is around, and it still leaves a surplus arm available...
