help! trying to get MAME to appear on my plasma!

that pretty much says it all. Ive done it before with my laptop and a projection tv via component cables but now im trying to do it using VGA cable into my plasma. I cant seem to get it working. what do I do?

I have windows vista. thanks!!!

...try a lower resolution, maybe 1024 by 768. This is the dvd standard if I'm not mistaken...

You need to find out what your plasma will accept on the VGA port and set the computer to match. My HDTV only accepts 640x480 on the VGA port.


DVDs have a max resolution of 720 x 480 in NTSC regions and 720 x 576 in PAL regions.

...you're right, I was looking at the settings under display on my computer...

Well, you connect up the cables and turn the stuff on. Then you shall see an image and be able to play games.

Games tend to display on whatever's designated as Monitor 1. Helps if you use desktop cloning rather than two desktops, I've found.
