Is the music from this game available to download anywhere? I'd like to add it to my Xbox, 360, and PS3 to use for a custom soundtrack during racing games.

Thanks

I did a search but couldn't find anything from Super Burnout. Not sure if this will work, but I have in the past inserted disks into a computer and have been able to pull music files off the disk. I just inserted the Jaguar game Blue Lightning and it ripped a pretty awesome song from the disk. Maybe give that a try.
BTW not sure what song it is off Blue Lightning, because none of the details are filled in. Probably wasn't something that was considered back then. Still pretty cool.

That ain't gonna work with a cartridge based game. :(

Yeah, sadly this is a cartridge game.

I guess I'll have to fire it up and see if there is perhaps a sound test somewhere so I could output the music via the headphone jack of my tv to my mp3 player (Which has recording capabilities).

How do they rip music from something like a SuperNes game? I always assumed it was done via emulation, so maybe this Jaguar emulator might eventually provide a method to extract the music from this game.

Yeah, in emulation they typically have .WAV record options, so you could sit in the soundtest mode and record a track that way. I know with the Genesis, people were able to dump the music format somehow and with a WinAmp or Media Player plugin, you could listen to the tunes by themselves.

Sounds like the only option right now is to hook the Jag's audio up to your computer and record it like that. If there isn't a sound test, you should at least be able to turn down the sound effects so there is only music playing. Just race away while you record.

Did just that with many an Amiga game and demo back in the day. Those tapes recorded with Maxell chrome or metal on my Nakamichi decks *still* sound awesome! :)

I'm not aware of any existing Jaguar chiptune format comparable to GYM/SPC/NSF, unfortunately.

Jaguar uses mostly Midi and .MOD files for cartridge games. If someone was using a debugger on the game as it ran and could figure out where the music was stored in the binary image and found out if it was compressed or not they might be able to rip it out but.... would require alot of work for something that most dont care much for.

Yep, same here! It's the only way I was able to rip music from some Saturn and PlayStation games that didn't have CD-audio, haha. Even hooked up a computer to another computer to do it back in the day,

Super Burnout is compressed. I managed to rip the sound effects from it, but not the music, although I didn't really spent much time on it. It doesn't seem to follow the standard MOD format, and could be in a custom format (as Shen had developed their own music playback engine, IIRC).

Yes it's not the standard protracker-mod format (M.K.). No idea what kind of format they did use but I'd like to have the music too :)

Huh? Shen is the name of the company that developed SuperBurnout, not someone on a forum.
