We were at Halloweekends at Cedar Point in Sandusky OH last night (which by the way I can'r recommend enough. Outstanding Halloweek attractions in addition to the rides). In one of their fright zones called 'Carn-evil' (no relation to the game), they have a tent set up with skeltons playing old arcade games. They had gutted the shells of 3 games to make these halloween decorations. One was an 'Attack' game from the mid 70's. The one that really made me sad was a Red Baron cockpit model. I couldn't tell what the other was. Unfortunately no pics for you as the fog in the area was too thick and constant interruptions from mutated clowns! I hate when classic games are ruined like this. Unfortunately Cedar Point has done this a lot. What used to be one of the top classic arcades in the country, has gone downhill to the point that most of the games in their main arcade are out of service. Very sad.

That's beyond sad, man. If they were going to do that a game, it should have been After Burner Climax. No offense to that game, but there are enough around. I don't know how rare a cocktail Red Baron is, but I have a good imagination. I would be really mad if I saw something like that.

I was never impressed with Cedar Point except the arcade when I went years ago. Too much of a big business theme park that is over-priced and has no idea of what it had with that arcade. Cedar Fair pretty much pushed out all the other parks in my region, even buying Geauga Lake and running it the rest of the way into the ground. That's what happens with a detached corporate entity.

I disagree about the arcade, but wholeheartedly agree about what has become of the park. Growing up nearby, I have spent my entire life going to the park. Back before the 'Cedar Fair' corporation, it was a great family park....then the roller coaster wars started and things changed. That's all they focus on now bringing in ooodles of $$$$ and snapping up competing parks left and right. I really miss what Cedar Point was back in the day.

I was there this summer and they still had about a dozen working classic games, and many pinball machines. It's more than I've seen in a long time anywhere else. Of course, there was nobody there playing them except me.

I do agree that it is sad... but maybe they were the park's old arcade cabinets that were beyond repair? Its possible they got waterlogged and destroyed, so they made a use for them for one final time, instead of scrapping them.

I can hope for that at least...
