Andrew and Atari legal worked out everything several weeks ago and in fact things worked out so well Atari would like Andrew to consider working with their head of Social Media and made all of the introductions...

I went to Andrew's domain today and it still has the old message about his domain going over to Atari legal which is obviously no longer the case.... I've been looking forward to Andrew putting the good old atari2600.org content back up onto the site so we can all enjoy it again....

That's news to me, good news. I suppose Andrew is just very busy with our current project.

I can't wait to have that site back up, it had a slew of 2600 programming information that I wanted to get my hands on! Hope this soon!

I've made a brief update to the atari2600.org page.

It's true that Atari and I have been discussing the issue -- and we're at a comfortable status-quo at the moment. It will be a while before I re-enable content, though, as I'm quite busy with other projects.

As far as talks go, I have made a number of proposals to Atari involving community-related projects which would help them to establish some goodwill. It seems to me that they've been quite open and willing to discuss these ideas with me. So I have a pretty good feeling that something positive might come of all of this. Things aren't always black and white, and I do understand their reasons for doing what they did; even though I may disagree with their interpretations on some issues. Be that as it may, it looks like there's some genuine willingness to move forward here, so watch this space.

That's so great to hear that diplomacy and cooler heads have won the day. Excited to see what good things come of this.
