Removing 1200XL RF modulator

I want to remove my RF modulator from my 1200XL's since I will never use them and need the space for upgrades and new outputs on the back.

Can I just desolder the RF where ever it's connected and just leave it all vacant, or do I need to add or remove anything else to protect the rest of the video circuitry?

You can remove the modulator, but you need to restore the shield ground.

Note the added wire between shield ground and DC return.

I dunno... some kind of SRAM memory expansion with a programmable OS/InternalCart, I would guess.

OK, sounds pretty cool. Nothing like that in my plans...for now.
