I just got back from the store with a sealed copy of Zool 2 for $25. Good deal or no? Also, should I open it? The box has a little bit of damage, I don't know if it's because it's getting crushed by the cellophane wrapper or not.

$25 is about right for something in that condition to even a good deal. As for opening... you could keep it like that and buy another Zool cartridge for real cheap, since most lots of Jaguar games generally have a Zool thrown in there.

Not that it is not a good game, quite the contrary, just that you have other options short of opening that box.

I've bought quite a few sealed Jaguar games and have opened all of them, included Missile Command. :) Go ahead and open it, unless your a NIB collector whats the point in keeping it sealed in its box.

Ya, OK, I opened it and played it. It's kind of a fun game, and my favorite so far (which isn't saying much, though, as I only have 5 games!) A little on the difficult side for me, though, I can't seem to get past Swan Lake.

Yeah, Zool 2 isn't exactly an easy game for most people, from what I can tell. It will take some practice.

I get stuck fairly early on, even with the maps I have... But I still pull it out every now and again to play, it's kind of fun :)

I've got few games that I had no interest playing still sealed. For instance my copy of Club Drive is still sealed. :)

Zools a cool little platformer. There's a little bit of slow down here and there and the graphics arn't anything the 16 bit systems couldnt have done but I don't feel that's enough to ruin a game. It's fast but unlike Sonic where you just blow through the levels you still have take your time due to the amount of enemies.

Zool 2 was somewhat of a mix between Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, Ninja Gaiden, and Contra, all rolled up together into one package. Very fast, very difficult. Took a lot of even begin to master the game, and to this day I still haven't completely beaten it.

Jag version plays slightly too fast (compared to ALL other versions), which increases the difficulty and annoyance factor. Too bad as it really is a good game.

I didn't really care for the slower pacing of the first Zool game. But I digress.

Yes, Zool 2 is fun!

I think that it is important to use the fire/spin button a lot, while running and jumping.
This way a lot of enemies can be destroyed before they can't harm you.

It makes the game much easier.

This is my philosophy exactly, and it's not one that's difficult to follow. When running along the ground, always fire. When not, you should be doing the spinning jump attack. These are the best ways to not get hit.

If you do get hit though, you can "camp" in an area and destroy respawning enemies (usually birds or some other flying object) to replenish your health. Every few enemies drops a health pellett.
