Is Didg Leapfrog or V-Tech....I don't even know.
My oldest has a Leapster 2, which she loves. She's 6 still gets a kick out of it all the time, so that may be an option. My youngest (2 1/2) always wants to play around with it too, so we're giving her a Leapster 1 for Christmas, which I really think she'll like. They still sell both the 1 and 2 models in stores, and they take the same games, which is really nice for us since we already have quite a few games. We just saw the #1 models at Toys-R-Us for $50, but we got this one on Craigslist brand new, in box never used for $20. The only difference between the 2 models is that with #2 you can connect it to your computer to access Leapfrog Learning Path to see your child's learning progress, download games, and stuff like that. It is a very nice feature, admittedly.
We already have a Leapster 2 for my son which works near flawlessly and yes, is still supported with games. My daughter though is old enough to move up to a Ninty DS or 3DS (or similar), but we were holding off as long as possible since she still enjoys the Didj when it behaves. To bad they don't support the Didj anymore and most of them are flaky, because the graphics seem decent and game play is good (and educational).
