I've gone through the thief missions except for returning the Skeleton Key and no full member love. You probably have to keep doing small jobs in each city until they give you bigger missions.. and finally proclaim you a full member.

Ok that makes sense. I'll just keep doing the missions then. I need to get that key....

That's because you need to return the key to finish out the main Thieves Guild quest line...

I'm actually set to do that mission tonight (Return the Skeleton Key to the cave, Thieves Guild). Last night I spent two hours on the mission before that to GET the damn key, slugging through a Dwarven ruin and a annoying boss battle. I don't mind returning it right away cause my Lockpicking skill is at 100. But yeah, it is tempting to hold on to the key for a while. You can't finish the Thieves Guild missions unless you do this mission to return the Skeleton Key, though, as remowilliams said.

I gave it back after opening just about everything I could find. If I play the game over again, I think I'll keep it.

Couldn't a person just give it back and then complete the Thieves Guild get the achievement for doing so, then just reload the last game save and keep it or better yet, pickpocket it from the person you give it to? Just curious as I have only just started the Thieves Guild and I recall the Skeleton Key from the last game, but remember getting it for good in Oblivion. Not sure it matters, I can pick pretty much all the locks having stuck some perks in lockpicking.

Well, I did the last mission of the Thieves Guild last night to return the Skeleton Key to the Sepculum.

To those of you who have held off doing this, you may want to re-consider. :-D You get a great reward for doing so, and it opens up the way to MORE rewards.

The quest itself is not that bad and different. There's a few fights, but most of it is just figuring out puzzles. You have to solve five of them to get to the end. Once you do and return the key, you are allowed to pick one of three Powers, granted to you by Noctural in thanks for returning the key. Every 24 hours you can come back and change the Power if you want (and it's easy to get to).

The first choice: Become invisible for 2 minutes, perfect for doing sneak attacks or robbery or what have you.
The second choice: Make your enemies fight each other for 30 seconds, ignoring you and allowing you to do what you want.
The third choice: Lifedrain from your enemies for a minute, giving you health and takng it away from them.

All very usefull powers. You're allowed to use it once a day. I took the first one for now.

In addition, once you do the quest and have finsihed enough 'helping the Thieves Guild' quests (the side missions) you are reconized as the new Guild Master, given a new piece of armor, and that opens up additional post-quests (Radient Quests) for you.

In Oblivion, if you turned invisible, whoever was attacking you would suddenly lose sight of you, and slowly start wandering away until their agro was gone. This happened after around 20-30 seconds. During which time you would recover and then could then attack again and start over wearing even the most powerful creature down easily. You could also just wander dungeons at your leisure and everyone would ignore you, if you picked something up, or opened a chest, you would become visible and agro the enemy, but a quick spell later and they were back to ignoring you. In other words, the Invisible spell in Oblivion was cheap and made fighting very easy. I was a mage who could turn invisible via a spell and stay that way for I think 300 seconds. From what I've seen Skyrim doesn't act the same way. If you go invisible and someone is attacking you, they will know where you are and continue beating the crap out of you. If true (I actually haven't messed with it much since I only have invisiblity potions and no spells) I wouldn't think it would be as great of a spell as it was in the last game.

Didn't seem that great to me. I don't even use once a day powers. The magic I can do any time I want is better than that stuff.

I second this. The lock picking is a *little* less annoying than Oblivion but still grating. Rembering the fraction of an angle to try next is dumb. I'll keep the key that doesn't break every half-second until no other pre-made missions are available.

I'm still at level 1 and about to beat Alduin. Never used a once a day power.

You still have to do the lockpicking game even with the key, though.

Working on the Dark Brotherhood quests now, Level 75. These are some fun quests and it should build up to a really awsome reward at the end!

But there's no starting over because of broken lockpicks or going really slow to avoid breaking them, so it's faster and easier with the key.

LOL! Yeah, you have the option when you marry someone to either live in their house or one of the five homes that you own in the major Holds. Do you have a house? If so, just go talk to your bride at her 'old' house and tell her you want to move. Easy as that.

Hit Level 81 this weekend! All my skills are maxed EXCEPT for Archery, which I'll try to get done soon enough.

Go to the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Website (I can provide the link if you need it, or just Google it), go to the Skyrim section, type in her name, and look at where her hometown is. Then just go there and find her. The map should clearly indicate what house that it is. Then when you talk to her, tell her "I'd like for us to move" and give her the location.

As for houses -- I have 4 of the 5 houses, in the major hold cities. There is one I can't buy due to it being Stormcloaks and I'm with the Imperials -- Windhelm. If you buy all the stuff for the house, most of the same. Whiterun is the smallest of them and only has a Alchamy lab. The others have a Enchantment lab as well. They all have storage facilties and ample room.

If there is intrest I can also post (thanks to my experience and the aforementioned website) some easy way to boost skills.

Been listening to Elder Scrolls music on YouTube yesterday and today while working on a project. Thought I would share here some links to my favorite performances.

Here's two girls -- one on piano, one on violen -- doing the main themes to Morrowind and Skyrim:

Here's a girl doing guitar and singing the Dragonborn Comes song from Skyrim:

Here's another girl doing the Age of Aggression song from Skyrim:

Live orchastra performance of the main theme from Morrowind:

For you piano players out there, tutorial on doing the Skyrim main theme:

And not to leave Oblivion out, a good piano performance of the main theme:

Starting to feel like no one else is playing still.....

Finished the Dark Brotherhood quest line, and working on some misc quests and other stuff before I go back to the main things left in the game -- the Main Quest and the Civil War quest lines. It's amazing how much there is to do in this game!

Word of warning -- when you get the horse Shadowmere, don't kill him! I lost him by accident when I took a high fall, but didn't bother reloading as I had read the horse will respawn back at the sanactury after about 15-20 days. Turns out there's a bug in the 360 version we're playing -- yes, another one! Not only does the horse NOT respawn, but if it did, it would be at the point od death -- which I don't recall! So basicaly I'm screwed. Not that I used horses much anyway, but he was a nice one and I could have used him to max Archery.

Was able to find a easy way to get Deadra hearts, also. If you've done the deadric quest of Mahamadus Dagon (the bad guy from Oblivion) then you know where his shrine is. You can return there every several game days if you want and there are two Deadra outside and two inside -- great for hearts! The loot inside is good also.

The double enchanment perk is the main reason I was looking for more Deadra hearts -- it's awsome! You should defentily unlock that one. I remade my stuff to carry two at one time. My deadric sword is so deadly now that it has base power of 107! Add on 25 points of fire damage and 25 points of shock damage due to the enhancements, and nothing can stand up to it after a few swipes.

Hahaha almost too much! Earlier today I decided to try and finish up all the misc and various other quests I'd aquired so I'd have a nice clean quest log. Well about half way through the total time I played today I realized I'd doubled the number of quests I have to do just from chatting with people I ran into along the way. *facepalm* lol

Right now I'm just having fun exploring and trying to figure out what I want to do with all the perk points I've amassed, I'm thinking of dumping 2 into smithing so I can unlock the glass armor but haven't decided for sure yet, that still leaves like 13 points to distribute, not sure what to do with them, trying to figure out what will best compliment my stealthy archer, thinking of looking into experimenting with some magic.

Yeah, there is way too much to do in the game, but it's not a bad thing. I wish every game had this much playability, but then again maybe I don't, I'd be playing 2 or 3 games a year.

Every now and then I'll play the game and be all like "I'm going to clear out my quest list some", and then afterwards end up with more quests than I started with. I have so much more to do, and then in 2 days from now Kingdoms of Amalur comes out. That game looks like it's got the massive world full of things to do like Skyrim, the art direction of WoW, and the controls of Fable. It also supposedly has over 200 hours of gameplay.

So much for playing anything else this year.

Oblivion had a similar issue with Shadowmare. Haven't seen him in dozens of hours despite supposedly respawning at the nearest stable when you fast travel.

Never heard of it, so I downloaded the demo and played it until it froze up my Xbox 360. I played it for more than 20 minutes of my time limit and I don't like it so far. I don't like the characters or the part of the world I've seen. It doesn't stand out like a Fable or Skyrim. It just seems kind of generic.

I played the demo again and although it's generic, it doesn't suck as bad as other adventure games I've tried on the Xbox 360 that want to be Elder Scrolls/Fable.

Hrmmm. I should try the demo then. Do you not get to make your own character like Skyrim?

I had just seen the trailers and they make it out to be a cartoonish Skyrim. If it sucks I'll just play that new Final Fantasy. Not a big FF fan, but I hear this one isn't that bad.

First things first though, lots more Skyrim to do. I did just find the Elder Scroll, so I guess I am near the end. Well, end of the main quest anyway.

You can pick from 4 or 5 races and choose your facial features, but that's all I remember doing. It's more like Saints Row.

The game is sucking less the more I play it, but I'm still not sure I like it.
