Hello!

I am not sure if all of you followed this thread in the "Auction Central" forum. The eBay item

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200673143268

uses a photograph of a lot I purchased in September. The seller didn't answer my and orpheuswaking's questions as to the reasons of this peculiar coincidence, and I have confirmation now that my lot is not in the hands of "mtspaceevolvd", but in the safe custody of the recipient I had it shipped to for storage and forwarding.

So I have good reason to say that "mtspaceevolvd" is pulling a scam.

Do NOT bid!

Thorsten

Thanks for the heads-up. "0" Feedback score. Red flag right there.

If you want to shut down this scammer, just report to ebay that he is using your picture. The auction will be shut down immediately and he will get a stern warning threatening to shut down his account, and it happens fast too. The reason I know is that I did an auction a year or two ago, and someone else had sold an identical item with a generic manufacturer's picture. Out of laziness, I posted the same item and reused their picture (I couldn't get it directly from the manufacturer's web site since it was an obsolete item). The other seller balked and the auction was shut down immediately. It wasn't even his picture to begin with!!! Ebay doesn't care, if you report it, they will just compare the files, if they are the same, this auction will be shut-down fast.

cheers,
c

I am sure that it is scam since he is using your picture. But it is weird as he only has one other item up and the two items just don't add up to much money. Why bother with a low end scam, he could just as easily be selling laptops he doesn't have or something else that adds up to money instead of peanuts.

Probably he has something to ship that is Atari stuff, just not what is in the picture.

Then even if that is the case STILL deserves to be reported and shut down since he is not offering what is pictured. Still, 0 feedback and using someone else's picture warrants a warning / report.

Of course he should be reported. Just saying I don't see why it is worth scamming for a few bucks.

Something similar happened to me about 10 years ago. I bought a Tandy coco lot on ebay from someone in Nova Scotia and it arrived with only half the items pictured. The seller admitted they used someone elses picture and didn't have all the items in the auction but refused any sort of refund. I had to report it to ebay to get a partial refund. The bummer was the software that I was after was the stuff that he didn't actually have.

I assume because he wanted to make a second thread as a warning to all, not everyone necessarily has seen the other thread or the conclusions it came to so better a second thread with a title that alerts others, no big deal, I would have done the same.

Yeah I understand the reason I was more poking fun at how this just became a second thread talking about the same thing as the last thread... haha

not to mention, different audience for the most part, here is all the people interested in the items specifically of the auction, and there is people who are interested in the general classic game/computer things... so posting/linking is reasonable when the outcome has a resolution...

yes orpheuswaking reads both, he doesnt do anything at work except read AA ;'D

sloopy.
