Bummer.
Well one hope is if anything, this day and age almost proves that digital content lives forever even after the companies that made them fade away. Heck look at the availability of Atari 2600 roms. You can get ALL of them easily. For that matter look at old DOS games.. not only are they available online(if you know where to look) but often include all extra add-ons that were marketed. If you don't want to have to use an emulator like DOSbox then many times there are patches to get them to work on modern OS's. Or look at something like the PSX.. it's not hard to find entire PSX collections available for download, huge as it may be. And if you're talking about current generation of course all Xbox 360 discs and even Xbox Live titles are meticulously cataloged and pirated.
So yeah I really don't see any paralyzation happening.. rather in 10-20 years I see "CLASSIC XBOX 360 - XBOX LIVE PACKAGE" with all games included circulating around the pirate scenes with ways to play it on whatever platform happens to be popular then (computer, black box, future console, who knows..) Or heck, probably easily put right on your "retro" xbox 360 console you still have in the attic.
