@crazy climber: it trully is the "killer app" for the 3DS, and is worth buying the system for. the game contains 16 worlds ranging from easy to old-school-NES-hard-as-fuck. tons of replay value there!

...and it's not because of bad level design!

I thought you repeated the first 8 worlds, Super Mario Galaxy style?

Those are some crappy instructions. I played a round last night and didn't know what the hell was going on.

I guess they're assuming everybody's played a Mario World game before. I went from the Atari 2600 to a Vic 20 and did my gaming on computers from that point on until I got a Playstation for Spyro the Dragon (I collect dragons).

I concur. It's an insert, not a manual. It think it looks and feels cheap, but that's the trend.

Finally picked this game up. I just gotta say....Oh my GAWD!!! PHUCKING AWESOME!!

This game is what you expect from a mario game, and so much more. It plays just about like a 2D game for the most part, but it is 3D, and some of the levels really want you to play it 3D style. The raccoon suit is awesome, and I found a boomerang suit later. Other than that, your mushroom and fire flower are still here, so that's great. Level design is awesome, and lots of old favorites (or hated features, depending on who you are LOL ) are here, like the crumbling bridges and the floating falling things, crussing thwomps and movingor tilting platforms.

This game is awesome. And yeah, it's one of the killer must have games that will definitely push systems out the door. Depending on your play style, it can vary from really easy to really hard. Just blow through the levels, and it's not to bad, try to get all the star coins, and yeah, the difficulty ramps up there. They are free with life giving, I had over 50 by the time I hit world 3, and now I got a schit load more. However, while I've cleared out world one and two, I still haven't found all the stars in world 3 on up.

Great game, if you like Mario, or platformer games, then this is the one to get. If you don't have a 3DS, get one and then get this game.

My son brought the game over the other night and I spent about 45min with it laughing, smiling, and having a blast. Several times I died because I just didn't catch on to what the gameplay was doing.... it all felt new and that I was discovering things for the very first time. No frustration, just total enjoyment!

Great job, Nintendo!!!

I picked this up a few days before Black Friday and I'm having an absolute blast. I made it to World 8 and so far every stage is a unique experience. This is how a 3D Mario game should play, in my opinion. Nintendo found the perfect balance with difficulty. Blast through to the end pole? Challenging, but not impossible. Wanna get all 3 coins in each level? Prepare for a beat-down. This game can proudly join the ranks of the original NES games and Super Mario World.

Woot!! Finally "beat" the game and am now having fun with the S worlds. Many are the same levels remixed, but there are some totally new ones too....man, and I've already dumped quiet a few hours into this game. AWESOME!!
