Well, following these easily clickable links and hopefully some guidance from some of the members in our Atari community, You too can make boxes like the professionals.

This box making art has been kept a chinese secret for way too long and the cat needs to come out of the box....below is a list of links to sites, Ive never thought I would venture looking for answers to my biggest game collecting problem. "How do I make my loose carts look like my boxed carts?"

Follow these links for all the information except for the actual photoshop process (If I found it usefull I am sharing it here, do you have more to share with us...please do!)

You might want to look into getting an ink jet printer capable of printing on heavy gauge/large card stock and the stock to print on. If you can accomplish that, I am sure artists will step up to help with cleaning up scans for printing.

I have thought about getting a printer to do homebrew boxes and can never get a straight answer about capabilities of printers from the feeble minded non caring employees at Office Max.

this is why I started this thread, cause the items needed to print this at home are deep secrets.....so I have to pay them $1.20 each print?

Why not just sell me what I need?

They laser printed stuff, which flakes off when creased. Stuff needs to be ink printed, like all professional packaging is.

Very true...the trouble is, in order to do a true (ink) offset press run, your quantity needs to be in the thousands. If something like this is produced as a small run on an offset press, the price per box would be sky high. Unfortunately, nowadays, the only solution is digital offset. This is either toner or ink jet based. This allows for smaller quantities at somewhat reasonable prices.

Thanks for linking my blog :) It pulled in a few extra views yesterday, lol.

I get my stuff printed professionally since I knew this wouldn't be able to be done at home.
I've got to get them printed onto A3 card and I don't know of any home printers that could do that.

They're not too expensive either. Costs me about £1.50 per box which is probably around $2-$3. I get about 5 done at a time with the tray inserts.

If anyone has any questions, I'm happy to help :)
