Saw this on another message board and it got me curious as well.
"All I remember from that old puzzle game is that it was gridded/tiled with grey floor. you were a character running around trying to reach(or destroy?) a dark greyish face with a gaping mouth. It had creatures and things that could move between tiles and explode or interact somehow. Sorry that is all I remember but it was awesome. xD"
It's not "Chip's Challenge". I thought that it might be "Solomon's Key" on the C64 but it's not that either.

Sounds like a variant of an old BASIC game called "Robots", if that helps any.
