Reroillucid is correct the are not locked but I have heard that PAL games may play slightly different because of the Hz differences (PAL 50Hz NTSC 60Hz) does anyone know for sure about this?

All NTSC game can work on PAL colecovision but they are generally slower if there are sync on vertical video synchro.

But some game designed for PAL or SECAM does not necessary works on NTSC. For now i don't know released game with that problem , but i had this issue when i was developping Smurf Challenge, it worked only on PAL and SECAM , i had to scale down the game by removing special effects and one scrolling layer to make it work on NTSC as well.

I have a PAL CBS Colecovision and have a healthy mix of releases from America, Canada, Europe and the UK and they all play perfectly for me I must say.
