Hi,
I recently got the cartridge out to play, and found out it's acting weird.
I get the startup screen, but as soon as i start the game i only get scrambled blocks on the screen with some music,
after a few secs it reboots and goes back to the startup screen.
I tries cleaning the contacts with no result.
Any ideas??

-Sandy

I would do a search on the many ways of cleaning up your colecovision switch and the other things that can go wrong with colecovision. Usually the first step to artifacts on a game is fixing the power switch on the colecovision. Yurkie can also do referb and cleaning up of your colecovision system but I see you are overseas so that is probably not a good solution since you may be using PAL system and the big shipping price.

So basically do searches on the forum for places where they tell you how to fix the power switch that is most likely your problem. If it is a different problem there are many other things in this forum where they help you on how to fix those things as well.

I have a system from Yurkie, this is the only cartridge which doesn't work.

While the above is good advice, the very first step should be to try other cartridges to see if you experience the same problems.

EDIT: Never mind. :)

Is your copy of Penguin Land the old homebrew version, or the CollectorVision version?

It's the collectorvision one, maybe it's a loose solder on the inside?

Perhaps the EPROM is going bad. I don't think the guys that soldered those up would have made a mistake on a solder joint.

If all your other games are working fine, I guess there's a problem with the cart. you should confirm this by testing out a bunch of games, and not just one or two (different games can have different effects, based on the memory used or not used, etc.).

I'd contact J-F, to see what can be done. Maybe the easiest would be if I sent you a new assembled PCB, and J-F sends you a new label... but I'll let you and J-F figure that out... maybe it's too painful getting the old label off.

Can't let a good blue cartridge casing go to waste, right? :)
