My Lynx mark 1 has lost its power jack connector (still works ok with batteries) and I want to replace it for as little money as possible.

I know I can buy a replacement for $2 here:

http://www.best-elec.../lynx.htm#Right

...but when you take into account international postage (I'm in the UK) and minimum order costs it gets expensive.

Here's my question:

Can I just solder in a power connector from a Sega Game Gear and then use a PSU with the correct polarity for the Lynx? (or the Game Gear PSU polarity if that's the same).

Many thanks!

I now have a Game Gear power jack and it too has 3 connectors so can just be soldered onto the 3 solder points where the original Lynx power jack used to sit (before it fell off). Only question is, does anyone know what the 3 solder points on the Lynx Mark 1 board relate to? eg power etc
