I've had a 360 for a little over 3 years now and in that time I've bought Microsoft Points just once and never bought anything on XBLIG. The only things I bought were Pac-Man CE and Outrun. But I've been waiting for Orbitron: Revolution since I saw the trailers on Youtube a few weeks ago. It's stunning to look at. Looks like a Defender/Stargate clone with some enhancements to the gameplay.

I've avoided Indie games like the plague on XBLIG although a couple of games have looked promising and almost got me to part with my money.

When we bought MW3 for my daughter for Christmas, we picked up 800 MSP for just £3 at the same time. And this game is 240MPS, so 60p or so for a half decent blast is well worth it.

there are a lot of fun cheap Indie Games.

I actually like the games that aren't so popular.

Avatar Ninja 2 is mindless fun. 80 points ($1)

Head Shot 2 was fun

there are actually a great number of Indie Games. unfortunately, people equate cheap with bad so some high quality stuff gets lost in the Indie section. plus, there are a lot of bad games there as well so it's hard to find the good stuff among them.

At least all the Indie games have trials since about 90% of them suck.

that's true. a lot of them suck. but the indie games section is the only true forum besides the android marketplace for anybody to make anything. you didn't need a publisher. you didn't need the typical $300-600K budget of an XBLA or PSN title. you didn't need the millions of a full retail title.

it reminds me of the shareware days of the Atari 8-bit and Commodore 64. heck, I remember donating money to keep my favorite Atari BBS's going and to have my favorite online BBS games going. that said, there are some gems. The Indie Games is where a lot of programmers cut their teeth and learn how to make a game. They then go on to bigger and better things.
