I bought a Japanese Wii off of Craigslist for $40. Seems like a good deal.

I have a a couple of Japan Only Game Cude games that play just fine on it.

Are their any Japan Wii exclusives that are must haves for the system.

BTW: I am a big shump fan and we don't seem to get many stateside.

Thanks,
-GrizzLee

That's interesting I don't think it works that way... but did you check yet just to make sure?

Shmups huh? You could get the "Milestone Shooting Collection Karous Wii" - it's a compilation of 3 Naomi/Dreamcast Shmups: Radilgy, Chaos Filed, and Karous. Come to think of it, this compilation was eventually localized as "Ultimate Shooting Collection" or something - perhaps just get whichever one is cheaper.

Yeah, I have that collection. Its pertty good. Played for a a couple of hrs last night.

After playing with it some more, I doubt I will play it much more. Maybe sell it.
It does play some US Wii games, but not all. My import GC games play, but I can play those with FreeLoader on my GC. All the menus are in Japanese and I can can't change it. Looking on the web, there doesn't seem to be any exclusive "import" must haves for the Wii or the GC that I don't already have.

Thanks,
-Grizz

The Japanese Wiis have better disc drives and in them than the North American (made in China) Wiis, so I'd keep it. If you install the Homebrew Channel you can use AnyRegion Changer to permanently reset the Wii to North America, which will let you install system 4.3U with the english menus. I haven't used it, but I think Priiloader will also let you set the region to NA and install the US system.

The best part of owning a Wii is the Homebrew emulators. SNES and Genesis games look incredibly good through the Wii's component connection.
