5200/4 port, when hooked thru the switch, the power light flickers, but will not stay on.
I checked the "goofy" external switch and power pack with another console and it works fine
So,Im assuming its an issue in the on/off switch?Or could it be in the cord itself?
Any suggestions would be welcome

You may have a bad switchbox :(

Typically, what I see goes wrong with the switchbox is either the voltage regulator IC goes out. Does it make a clicking sound when you plug in the power source?

Another possibility could be the 5200 unit itself. There's a flip flop IC circuit chip by the power switch that I've seen go out.

Another possibility could be a burned out voltage regulator. There are two of them on the board. those can be picked up at your local Radio Shack.

Switch box is good.Checked it with another 4 port.
I think the other possibility you mentioned is the probablr cause
However,I detest going to radio shack,if your not there to buy one of thier stinking phones, they
ignore you
But thanks for the ideas
