Not sure if anyone else was aware of this so I thought I'd post it: Myst has been announced for the 3DS and scheduled release date is Feb 2012.

I loved this game back in the day and played it on a couple of different systems. This just might be a very nice addition to the 3DS library and I can picture how great it might look in 3D.

This game might be a must buy once I purchase a 3DS.

So we can asusme that this is a free-roaming FPS-style game, not just a still-screen like the original? :)

I have Myst for the DS. It is OK, but not that great. If there isn't anythign new, I'd pass on this. Free roaming would be a great addtion to the game. It is a bit slow by todays' standards. I'd realy like it if they ported Riven over. My favorite in the series :-)

Meh, I could never get into this game, or any similar to it. It would be cool to see the original visuals/images given 3D, though.

A port of Real Myst would be nice, but my guess is it will be the original game.

Egads, how could I have forgotten Riven???? I agree with you, Grizz... as much as I enjoyed Myst, I thought Riven was a better game!

While it might look cool in 3D, this type of game isnt really that great, and even less so in the modern era. Still, if it's a budget or somthing I might pick it up just for shits and giggles. It was interesting to poke around on, just not the type of game I'll put a lot of time in.

I remember 7th Guest being a hell of a lot more fun (IMO) though, and wouldn't mind seeing a 3DS version of that....maybe it was the puzzles, or the more actiony nature of it, I dont know, but I actually liked that one.

Any other games? How about porting the old PC Elder scrolls games, I bet a lot of people would like to see the first and second in the series...Who knows, the 3DS might could do a dumbed donw morrowind, or they could go with an all new game too :P

Say what you will about the gameplay, Riven is one of the most beautiful works of art ever to grace the gaming medium.
I had the original windows CDs, and the DVD anthology of the first 3 games after that. I even have Myst for the Saturn! But as for Myst on 3DS, I think I'll pass.

I believe I've read this is more or less the same port as the DS one, except the visuals are rendered on the top screen in 3D. Which is pretty much pointless since, as the game is a point-and-click game, it would be primarily played on the bottom touch screen anyway, which isn't in 3D.

Needless to say, this doesn't interest me at all. Give me a 3D-enabled version of the game I can play with the Kinect and you have my interest.
