There's a first time for everything but today I cancelled an order with DX for some Wii accessories. I wouldn't be so pissed off if Christmas wasn't coming up and I'd paid for fast delivery (I normally just go for the slower free delivery) but it's been 10 days since I placed the order and it's still showing up as pending - awaiting items from suppliers.

Normally it doesn't take more than a couple of days, three at most, before they ship the items out but this time there's been an unacceptibly long delay. In contrast, some R4 cards I ordered from PriceAngels should be here shortly and they were shipped within a couple of days of the order being placed.

Is it because of an increase in orders over the Christmas period and either DX or their suppliers are finding it difficult to keep up with demand?

Depending on what all you ordered, you may have ordered an item that is no longer made (and those sites are notorious for keeping "out of production" items in their listing forever (how many years was afterburner listed on various sites after they got discontinued?) )

So that may be the issue.

Also, one item may have been sold out, literally, and like you said, demand is just so high right now. If that is the case, they'll get more in, and you can probably pick them up after christmass. (unless your getting it for christmass, that is) I couldn't see something like 4R being hard to come by, they simply sell so many that people should be keeping the stock up on that type of item. But the other oddball stuff...

No such thing as fast delivery from DEALXTREME. There stuff is cheap, if your careful and read a lot of reviews you will be satisfied with what you get and you will get it EVENTUALLY. But do NOT oprder form them if your not prepared to wait a month+.
