Does anyone plan to play this? I realize that the eariler Star Wars game wasn't a huge success, but I've been reading some articles about this new effort and people are gushing about it. It sounds like it may be a really awsome game.

I should warn people, though, it's being published by EA.

I played the beta a couple weeks ago Had a good time playing as a smuggler. Played about 5 or 6 hours.
I made it off the first planet... Onto a space station of some kind... I think crafting of weaponsand armour
Is possible there. But i didn't make it to the tables in time. But for some reason it doesn't have the star wars
"feel" i'm looking for. Sometings missing... Maybe i'll give it another try in the future.. I friend of mine at work
Is super excited to play. He's even beefing up his pc to play it.

I want to give it a try, which is a first for me as I'm generally totally against paying for a games I've already payed to own. If the pay scheme was more reasonable like you pay for 24hr and you get 24hr of play as opposed to paying for 24hr and having to pay non stop to make the most of your money for that day before time runs out. But since I love star wars and missed out on the last one(really wanted to try but never did) and this one looks really cool I think I'll give it a try. I like the that you aren't dependent on other people to finish quests, something thats always bugged me about MMORPGs because I know very few people that play them so I like the idea that I can quest with an NPC. So yeah I'm going to try it, its just all a matter of when, I'm gonna in all likely hood give it like a year or so to work out any teething that is needed.

I played Beta for a bit. I have played quite a few MMOs and honestly I like the game, but I was not blown away. I currently already pay money for WoW and the game didn't blow me away to the point where I would consider dropping another $15/mo. This is not to say I won't ever give it a try, but I think I will let it mature a bit. Plus I am currently holding out to try Guild Wars 2.

I personally think that they should have just done the same thing they did with KoToR but added multiplayer modes to it (like Co op, PvP, other). I Liked SWG a lot more. I have played the beta of Tor on my friends account when i was visiting and i wasn't really that thrilled with it. I would have liked it much more if they made KoToR III and not a MMO. Yes ToR looks good, but that's isn't everything when it concerns a MMO, its what you can do in it which makes it good or not.

Being that the official SWG servers are no longer operating i play SWG using alternate methods.

MMO will make much more $$$ than a single-player game in the long run IF its popular enough. The question is will Tor be able to get a few million players.
