not sure where to put this topic but went to a friends and hooked up the atari and modded coleco. when playing any games its kind of like the controls are delayed. all were hooked up to a plasma. even tried a wii and playing with the dk bongos from the gamecube and everything is off... delayed i guess. tried kaboom with the paddles and its way off. which ever way you turn the paddles its not in sync i guess...all the controls hesitate. anyone ???

Probably lag due to the signal being buffered and preprocessed, and there might be different delay depending on what input source is used (RF, composite, component etc)

also tried them on the lcd and crt in the other room and they worked great... playing a modded coleco and also used the atari module with it... so composite for the coleco. and the wii... component. nothing seems to work right just on the plasma

Yeah it's a problem with your TV, not the games. Some HDTVs are just no good for non-component/HDMI game systems. Now if PS3 or Xbox 360 has the same input lag, then your TV is worthless trash. If you don't already have one, you should get the component video cable for your Wii to test it out again.

You might just have to buy a cheap CRT at a thrift store to play your classic games on. (well it's cheaper than completely replacing your HDTV with another HDTV that has superior timing, like a SHARP or Magnavox LCD)

An alternative could be to run through a PVR or DVD recorder that has the needed input then pipe to TV via HDMI or component but that might have lag of it's own.
