guess who just found Prism Break?

<===== THIS GUY!! (found two actually and purchased both)

yeah, Kaos is a pain. on my second playthrough, all 14 of my Level-6-and-above characters got flattened, and then one by one my unused Level 1 characters got laid out. after that, the game told me use another Skylander and i yelled "I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE DAMNIT!" but then i noticed my sealed Darklight Crypt sitting on the other side of the room. and then Ghost Roaster went in for the kill. and there was much rejoicing.

i think the game KNOWS when you have one guy left. that's happened to me both times i played through the final battle, and the first time i had way less characters in my possession.

Just when you thought you could slow down your hunt for Skylanders, they release 3 new ones. All are supposedly available right now:

Lightning Rod is a celebrity among the Skylanders and joins Whirlwind and Sonic Boom to the roster of available air element characters. His primary attack, the lightning bolt, packs a powerful zap, while his secondary attack - grand lightning summoning - can take out a wider range of baddies.

Sunburn is part dragon and part phoenix, making him one of the most unique creatures in Skylands. Sunburn hails from the fire element and although he can breathe flames like the best of them, he can also teleport to protect himself. Sunburn rounds out the line-up of fire characters, joining Ignitor, Flameslinger and Eruptor.

Zook is a life character and comes locked and loaded with a bazooka attack. His hand-carved bamboo bazooka fires special explosive thorns and he can protect himself with his foliage barriers as he wanders throughout Skylands. Zook joins Stealth Elf and Stump Smash in the currently available line-up of life characters.

Quick!

Amazon has a few Skylanders in stock for $7.99.

I just snagged a Cynder. They also have Whirlwind, Double Trouble, Chop Chop, Flame Slinger, and Drill Sergeant.

Wal-Mart and Target have raised the price to $8.99 and Game Stop and Toys R Us to $9.99 (when they have any in stock). Grab while you can!!

i'm at the point where i have everything released from Waves 1-3 except Voodood (and all the triple packs which do not interest me since i use my characters through the unopened package).

I'm also missing Zook and Lightning Rod (Wave 4) because the "big event" this past Sunday at my local TRU was a huge joke. but i did finally get Bash that day. Dragon's Peak, the last Adventure Pack, is right around the corner.

I actually exchanged phone numbers with this dude from the Dark Spyro forums because we live in the same city, so when he finds shit he texts me where and what they've got and i do the same. it makes the hunt even more fun since i don't have kids and my wife thinks I'm retarded.

I went bomberpunk today:

Legendary Trigger Happy
Stump Smash

There were five boxes not opened yet, so I waited around.

On the first box I nabbed:

Darklight Crypt
Empire of Ice

I was then asked if I wanted to check out, and I asked if the other four boxes were going to be opened:

Prism Break Boomer Voodood 3 pack
Lightning Rod Cyndder Zook 3 pack

The Dragon's Peak wasn't there.

I noticed this morning that Amazon has some figures available for purchase, but raised their price by $1 so that they now sell for $8.99.

I've also noticed figures available in various stores that I have visited over the last couple weeks... Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc....but I've purchased nothing as I guess I've lost interest in collecting the figures since finishing the game.

I went out the next day and picked up Sunburn with Dragon's Peak, and ended up getting $5 giftcards for it and what I bought the day before.

Skylanders is my change of pace game. In the last month or so, I've gone through Batman Arkham City, Bulletstorm, Fallout New Vegas and most of Mass Effect. Alot of the common figures are now available, the only one I don't have that I would want is Wham Shell.

Heh..... I just noticed that three more new characters have been released: WhamShell, Camo, and WarNado.

Egads, three new ones and I still haven't seen the last three characters or Dragons Peek on store shelves yet. Guess I'm lucky that I stopped playing as prices for these suckers continue to rise.

Well, patience has paid off. I picked up Skylanders for under $50 for the 360 at Sam's club today.
It turned out to be mismarked but manager gave it to me for $49.86 anyway!
SCORE!

I play a round or two with my girlfriend occationally. I don't have any of wave 5 either. WOuld like to pick up a Camo if I see one, but if I don't get one, I'm not worried about it.
As popular as this game was, you would have thought there would have been some expansions released by now. I klnow each figure has it's own heroic challenge and you can unlock stages buying the adventure packs, but I'd really like to see some online co-op and/or vs. implementation. Maybe some NPC popping up sometimes to give you new stages. I dunno. Just doesn't seem to be a lot of support keeping the game fresh beyond the original story line, except spending $$$ to get new figures.

Playing is on hold until I can pick up one of each class of Skylander. I'm still missing a couple and Walmart didn't have any of one of the classes. They are the only local place to buy them.

Fun game. It's a little easy at times but the challenges are great fun! You know the challenges are about right when you have to take several attempts and just barely make it in time when you succeed.

A few nitpicks
1. When you copy it to the hard drive, the voice is out of sync with the character's lips.
2. Oh please please please let me skip the silly dialog. I can read it so much faster and some of it is just painful to listen to. :) I guess I shouldn't play games aimed at people 1/4 my age.
3. The game can lock up if you swap characters during dialog.
4. "your a skylander!", "WOW, a skylander!", "gee, a skylander"... (one hundred dialogs later) "It's great to have skylanders back",.. (one hundred more dialogs) "gee, we still can't get over saying skylander at every opportunity!" Ok, I made that last one up. :)

I really am enjoying the game though!

They are probably going to release a bunch of new characters for the holidays.
BTW, with downloadable content, they can add any number of new characters.

well actually they're releasing the sequel, "Giants" at year's end (most sites say as early as October). so between now and then is when they'll give us the Sidekicks since all 5 waves are out.
