Obviously if we were to go all time, I'd bet Tetris would get a very deserving mention more times than not. This topic is more on the ones that have been developed in the past 10 years or so. We can go all platforms also. Its a genre I myself have at times ignored, but have had a hankering to collect up a few since puzzlers are IMO are timeless and for the most part quite affordable.

I see Lumines gets pretty glowing reviews. Peggle is popular to some folks. Bejeweled just barely misses out on this list (its been around for 11 years) but it has become one of the most popular of all time. I remember there being a lot of buzz about Boom Blox a few years back. So what else has been put out in the last generation or two that has captured your attention and you've really enjoyed.

I guess Puzzle Quest and Portal made pretty good hybrid games. Super Monkey Ball was pretty good too.

Bookworm on GBA really grabbed me.

Puzzle Quest 1&2
Bookworm Adventures 1&2
Plants vs. Zombies (I consider this a puzzle game as well as a tower defense game)
Bejeweled 3
Gyromancer
Faerie Solitaire (dont laugh)
3 Elements
Peggle
PICross 3D
Mystery of the Crystal Portal (and other simple seek n find games)

The Boom Blox games are pretty good on the Wii. :)

Magnetis (PC and WiiWare)
Super Bubble Pop (Game Cube/XBOX/PC/GBA)
Chime (PC/360/PS3)
Lumines (PS2/PSP versions are the best, IMO)
Chains (PC)
Meteos (Nintendo DS version)

I'd list Gunpey (I got a lot of playtime out of the PSP version), but it seems that one has been around since at least the '90s.

I liked the mercury series a lot. My favorite version is mercury meltdown(PSP), meltdown remix(PS2), and meltdown revolution (Wii)

The Portal Series were the first to come to mind. I'm not much of a puzzle fan but both of those games were really good.

Portal has been mentioned already, so there you have it.

I liked Hexic for what it was. Unlike Bejeweled, I can and must slow down and think when I play it. Also, free game is free game.

Omg that f-ing Hexic! I got my gamertag high on the leaderboards WITHOUT cheating one night! Woke up the next morning and they reset the boards because some stupid a-holes hacked the game! Bleh.

And I don't understand why some many people love Portal. That game just annoyed me... probably because I never got out of the first room.

Zuma is a great puzzler, but I like doing logic puzzles. They should make a logic puzzle game..
