I got some 7800 games from my wife and in-laws, of course I told them what to get. My Christmas included Kung-Fu Master, Pete Rose Baseball, Basketbrawl, and Motor Psycho all CIB.

I am getting so close to my complete set I can almost taste it. I still need the hardest to find title, Tank Command, and what I would probably consider second hardest to find, Title Match Pro Wrestling. Alien Brigade still eludes me, but that has more to do with the going rate for a copy than lack of oppurtinity. I also need the box and instructions for Rampage. I have the cartridge that I bought way back in the 7800's life, but I threw away the box and manual.

So a very good classic gamer's Christmas for me.

What about the Diagnostic Catridge? I decided it wasn't worth the $ and went ahead and declared my 7800 collection complete without it since it is not a game.

Patience on the Tank Command catridge. They pop up every now and again and often in pairs.

I really never even thought about including the Diagnostic Cartridge. I don't know that much about it, but was it ever released to stores for consumers to buy or was it only intended for technicians?

I must say I am suprised by the games. I have heard bad things about Pete Rose Baseball but I really enjoyed it. I think it has one of the best outfield sections of any 8 bit baseball games. Of course the infield part is pretty bad but manageable once you get the hang of it.

I knew Kung-Fu Master kept the same control scheme of the 2600 version even though there is a second button and I expected to hate it, but it actually works okay and is pretty fun.

Basketbrawl and Motor Psycho were both fun too, but I came at those with less preconcieved notions. I like how on Basketbrawl you can have two players on the same team.

Wow, you got some great games for XMAS, most of which I am looking for. I have a complete cart and manual collection (minus Tank Command) and have a good start on the boxes. I was lucky and got a CIB TItle Match off ebay for $50 shipped and I have an Alien Brigade box coming in the mail from a seller here at AA. I also need a Rampage box but do have the instructions. It's hard to find people selling boxes only so now that I have all the games and instructions, I find myself buying CIB games just to get the box and then reselling the cart and instructions. I'm having a great time collecting for the 7800, I love the hunt!

Congrats on the additions to your collection! :)

I am not really sure if a consumer could order a diagnostic cart or not. I would be interested if anyone has any input on that. While I doubt it was available in stores, I wonder if it was available via catalog order.

Good stuff that you are enjoying the 7800. I am a 2600'er mostly, but I like to play the occasional game on the 7800 and 5200. I love the usual arcade hits Centipede, Asteroids, Robotron, Mario Bros, Dig Dug, Xevious, and Ms Pac Man.
