And knows well more than what he's saying in that auction about the nature of what he just sold.

Oh, I'm in. I love games like this....
What is - Trying to make it look a little more "rare" than it actually is? Alex, did I win?

Just read the auction. Not that he didn't anything wrong, just purposely playing stupid.

Well, it would have to be one of the following then....
Purposely playing stupid = trying to make it look rarer more valuable?
Purposely playing stupid = trying to not get it pulled by Ebay? (as you know repros are no-no's)
Purposely playing stupid = actually kind of stupid?
I guess I have been guilty of all 3 myself at one time or another, lol

I think the point being made here is that if you have an eprom programmer than that kit could be recreated for ~$40 to $45. I've bought 50 used 27256 eproms on eBay for ~$25 + shipping. You have to erase them and you'll get a few duds, but you can usually get a pretty good deal if you're patient. All those roms are freely available and can be downloaded here from AA. That cartridge board looks to be stock green and not blue so it's probably just a hacked berzerk, vanguard, real sports baseball cartridge ($4-$5) which can be converted into a 32K eprom cart with a $.50 quad input AND and a $.50 (28) pin socket. I think a new 32K cartridge used to run $7.50 in the AA store anyway. So if anybody felt they lost the opportunity on this listing and wants a replica kit for $75 let me know :)

If I was going to spend $100 though, I would just spend the extra $30 and get the Atarimax USB 128 in 1 cart.

Then again, if the buyer and seller are happy then that's all that matters. Sometimes you put a high BIN on an item and you get a buyer that bites. Congrats to the seller because I am never that lucky!

-Jeff
