Well. My entire association with the Atari 2600 has been to call it the twenty-six-hundred.
But I found out today at least one person calls it the "two thousand six hundred".
So, mmh. The latter sounds just... wrong. It's the "twenty six hundred"... right?
Cheers

People who say "two thousand six hundred" must be so lazy that they never even bothered to watch one Atari 2600 commercial:

I never heard anyone called it 2 thousand 6 hundred.. I always assumed if it doesn't have a comma in the number just call it hundred instead of thousand.

Since there is no "26 100" in German language it was always the 2 1000 6 100 for me.

Everyone knows it's just an Atari, and it needs tapes to work.

I've always called it one-hunnerd-thirty-score; I'm surprised you all haven't been.

Regarding the VCS: I have never seen a comma between the 2 and 6. It's not a dollar figure.

"Twenty Six Hundred" is the way to pronounce it.

Cheers!

Just about everybody I've heard pronounces it "twenty-six-hundred," except for those itchy contrarians who insist on calling it "two-sixer-double-ought" or something equally awkward.

I thought people who said 'twenny' also said 'hunnerd'? Example: "I play 'tari tapes on my 'tari twenny six hunnerd."
