I have my 5200 hooked up through a gold coaxial to female rca adapter.the picture is fuzzy. When it is on channel 3 the fuzz is worse so I have it on channel 2. Why would that matter when all analog broadcasting has stopped in the US? I hooked up my Intellivision through the same connector and the picture was clear.

It could be the 5200 end of the connector is not conducting very well, try cleaning the connector on the 5200. If you want to open up the 5200, you could follow the signal inside and resolder points involved. Since it works with the intellivision, it's probably not your wire or connector.

Also, I don't think ALL analog TV broadcasting has switched to digital, and besides that, I believe the bandwidth will be used for other reasons, eventually.

Some electronics put out an interfering frequency when operated. Could also try cleaning the channel switch.

I think part of the channel switch is misssing. I have to reach in with a small pocket knife to move it.

That is normal. Mine doesn't stick out either and I need a screw driver to adjust it. And the brand new 4 port we had as when I was little was the same way.
