It's alright guys, really! Just call at least *once* this month, and you'll
be entered into the pool.

Just for everyone's information, the small utility I use to pick a winner does so
from a list of callers that's generated from a script the BBS is running...so yes,
the more you call the greater your chances are of being picked from that list.

But...having the most calls does not guarantee you'll win. This month was a
perfect example. Marius actually had the most calls, while Dark WIllow was
one of the least...but the utility picks what it picks. It is totally random. :)

Thanks for calling everyone!

PS Do you all think it might be a good idea from now on to post a gentle
reminder, say 5 days from the end of each month?

Well only two of my thirty plus a8 machines are online, now if only we had an easy ethernet option for the little beasties I could get all of them online at once.

I heard from MetalGuy66, evidently warerat has a nice enet module for the A8, full complete, and ready to go...

<Metalguy66> HE has a totally finished PBI ethernet board, fully implemented in CPLD, with 512k of PBI legal banked firmware.. based on the wiznet 8900 embedded ether/TCP chipset. You cal literally, open a N: device from user programs and send/recieve data packets via TCP..
maybe you should ask him?

I call in with my Atari 8bit computer, using a Lantronix MSS 100 (an UDS10 , or UDS 100 will do too). So I don't need a network card or feature for the little atari.

@Darklord

btw. you did not type my name right in your post... (I suppose you meant me by 'Maurius'?)

Yup, that's how I get in with my a8 machines, I have two MSS100 units in the basement, one is on the XE and the other on the ST

I view it in 80 col mono ANSI (only mono due to the A8). I am dying for a VBXE2 80 column colour ANSI terminal :)

We support:

ASCII
ANSI
VT52

and mono versions of ANSI and VT52.

ANSI is auto detected. Anything else will bring up a menu where
you can choose what you want.

HTHs. :)

Yep, you can catch them at bargain rates sometimes. Contrast that with $149.00 for my
UDS1100 direct from Lantronix. :)

Just saw this - it was fun to connect in to the board; really brings back memories of how my online experience was back in the day with my 800XL and MPP 1000-E modem...
