I have been looking for these pictures for a while. I took these pictures back in the day when I was playing Ladybug, trying to get my name in a video game magazine. I took a few pictures through out my game. They are kinda blurry. The last picture is hard to see the score but I made it to level 73. In order to get my name in the magazine I had to have a score of 999,999. I have that picture but can not find it. I think I had to send it to the magazine company in order to get my name in it. Does anyone know the name of that magazine ? I believe it was sometime in March or April of 1983. I cant remember it, and to top it off I never seen them put my name in. When I got that score, I continued playing and it flipped the game I think. I thought the game score went back to zero, but I cant remember as it has been over 28 years ago. I just stopped playing the game after that cause my parents kicked me off and made me go to bed. Can anyone offer any input ?

Wow-amazing score! Maybe it was Coleco's own Experience mag? I don't know if it was still 'out' at that time, I know they had high score submissions listed in the mag. I see a fall 83 & a winter 84 listed on DP, so it's possible. Maybe it was Electronic Games or Electronic Fun, those were the two big ones I remember during that time frame.

I think my high score was around 250K on the easy level, those enemies move so fast in the later stages, I don't know how you did it!

Pretty cool that you have the old pics. I set the Q*bert record on Twingalaxies back in 2001, because I remembered getting over a million as a kid back in the 80's when the system was new. I now hold the records for both Q*bert skill #3 and DKJ skill #4

I looked up Lady Bug and skill #1 is over 9 million and skill #4 is over 700,000

You should fire up the ColecoVision, get some practice and submit your World Record score to Twingalaxies.

Best of Luck.

Nice scores.

Way back when, my (then) wife played this game for hours and finally gave up after score over 1.9 million plus points. Scoring this much is not super hard - but you have to be VERY patient. Didn't take picks because we didn't know that high scores were kept.

It was your score Tom. You probably were praying for a kill screen after all those hours of game play.

Lady Bug was one of the first games I got. I think my highest score was around 120,000 before I got impatient and just died. Getting the vegetable garden was a big key to getting high scores. I noticed when you die the randomness of the letters would reset. I knew that if I died I would have a hard time getting all the letters in SPECIAL. Anyone else notice this?

I remember getting that vegetable garden was about the most insane thing one could do on a Coleco back then...that's the only reason we played that game.

Atarilovesyou .............Isn't that when you get to eat all kinds of vegetables with out anything chasing you? I was practicing today and was one letter away from spelling SPECIAL.

Tom's first place score for skill #4 is 753,910 and the second place score is 247,700 held by Troy Whelan.

Had you recorded your score and submitted it, you would be in 2nd place Cara. You should look over the rules for score submission and join Twinglaxies, neither of which cost any money.

Being in 2nd place behind you Tom is nothing to be ashamed of.
