Jaguar HSC Revamped, SEASON 3, ROUND 3: Atari Karts

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Round Over

RULES AND DIRECTIONS:

Since Atari Karts does not have a time-attack mode, PLEASE follow these instructions carefully:
  • Select the BEGINNER difficulty.
  • Select the TEMPEST cup.
  • Select BENTLEY BEAR as your kart/driver.
  • Race every course in the cup from start to finish.
  • WRITE DOWN your times after each race.
  • Post each of your track times here as your submission. These will be added up in the end. The lower the better!
  • Because there is a lot of room for error here, screenshots or photos are preferred.
Here is the Atari Karts round from last season if you would like something to refer back to: http://www.atariage....ason-2-round-1/

If you are not familiar with the Jaguar HSC general rules and how the scoring system works, please visit this thread here: http://www.atariage....son-3-schedule/. It is recommended that you take a photo of your score, but it is not required. We go on good faith here, so please be honest.. :)

I don't believe that the hills make a difference in terms of race times (if someone has verified that it does have an effect, please let me know). It's personal preference at this point. Some feel it's easier to gauge turns with the hills turned off. I personally like them turned on to keep the game from being too flat. ;)

Just made a first attempt so that twoquick isn't playing alone. :) Wrote down my times for now but I'll take pics after a little practice/improvement. The castle level is a nuisance. I got stuck a couple times on barely visible bricks near the edges.

I got 9'37"50. I might be wrong though (as everyone here knows, my math is usually a poor man's job  ).

I just had a quick go at this… I have pics, but it will take a while to upload all 6 pictures…

my times:

1'20"30
1'32"60
2'29"40
1'55"70
1'30"00
2'00"50

(it's probably a last place time.. started to add it up, and just realized adding time is a bit different)

Didn't bother with pics since I'm sure that I can improve before Sunday. But, had to post and 'erase' the horrible 3 minute castle track time from my first attempt.

My times for now, which will probably be my final times, though there's plenty of room for improvement. Not crashing to a dead stop a few times would help. :)

Oh, and if anyone is interested, there's a time calculator here that could be handy. I tried it and it matched the result I got by manually adding the times using my brain.

http://www.unitarium...time-calculator

Just remember to add in the hours, and put a decimal point for the hundredths of seconds, so an Atari Karts time of 01'15"20 would look like 00:01:15.20 when you enter it. Unless I'm misunderstanding the time format.

There's an easier to use calculator here (http://www.onlinecon..._calculator.htm) but, the result I get is a little different, it's off by a little over a second. I don't know which is right. lol

My attempt (which was a pretty poor one, I might add):

1"11'00
1"15'55
2"09'15
1"31'90
1"20'10
1"24'30

*edit: after adding it all up via the calculator given above, I guess it's not so bad afterall (8'52'00). I bet I would be able to do better if I had a Pro Controller (sharp turning). Likewise, the times would have been better had I not gotten stuck on any walls.

I have added up everyone's track times on the first calculator, the reasoning being so we know the math comes from the same source. Here's what I got:

Orpheus--00:12:41.35

Abominabletoaster--00:09:12.0999999999999

Boog--00:09:46.25

Twoquickcapri--00:08:38.4000000000001

SonicR--00:10:48.5

Darrin9999--00:09:40.5999999999999

Austin--00:08:52

GKC--00:08:26.5

Finally got around to playing this game. Gave it four tries and this was the best I could get. I got better scores on some of the individual races on other cup tries but this was my best cup time from first race to last.

1"10'10
1"17'10
2"02'20
1"30'60
1"13'80
1"12'70

By the calculations on that first site: 8"26'50

I found sharp turn with the pro-controllor un-usable. You just skid out sooner.
