I was just seeing that announcement on the 'in-game' section of MSNBC actually. Very interesting. I for one am hoping.

I believe the patent applies to the current 360 (but if they own the patent to the 360, they can extend it to a newer console). The patent is for DVR support for a 3 core processor with 6 total threads which is the 360. The patent was applied for in 2007. So it makes sense with all the TV offerings coming to the 360.
