Was wondering if anyone else had seen this

http://www.scorpion....hp?page=venture

It's a really cool remake of Venture. I've been hooked on it since I found.

I've only ever played the 2600 version and the hacks of it.

From what I can tell, it's based on the colecovision version. Never played the arcade version so I don't know how close it is.

Anyways, anyone else try it? I highly recommend it for any other Venture fans. Some of the new traps are devious.

edit* I tried to embed the vid, but it didn't want to work. :(

@legend,
yes, it's based on the colecovision version,
i ripped the graphics and music from that version.

i programmed the whole thing from scratch and seriously enhanced the A.I. of the enemies,

glad you like the new levels and traps!!

here's a video on youtube

how do you like MouseTrap?
here's a video:

I love it, but....I really wish that it supported my USB joypad! I'm not very good with the arrows and space bar.

But, great job anyway!!

I am aware of that enhanced version of Venture. I did incorporate a few enhanced features that will soon be released from Video61. Has a standard version that looks and plays very similar to Coleco version and a Challenger Mode. I tried to make this game compatible with the majority of Atari 8-Bit computers so I had limits of how far I could go with it.

This RPG Demo was derived from some the programming I used for Venture. I built something that went room to room like the 2600 Adventure and switched to using multicolored sprites.

The subject of doing Mouse Trap did come up, but I did not jump on it. Mouse Trap has similarities to PAC-MAN and I remember there were a lot of PAC-MAN clones on competing systems back in the early 80s. There was another one called Ladybug.

All Right!! Thanks for the tip, I didn't know such a thing even existed. It took me a while to figure out the setup, but once I got it going, it's the best Venture controls yet.
Thanks again for the advice.

good that you like the controls :)
I found the original controls in the colecovision not very responsive..

anyway, i'm the coder of this version of venture. I used to play it on my colecovision when i was a kid, but i always thought the game needed more,
i didnt compile it to Mac, since i dont have a mac, but there is a Mac compiler floating around somewhere

that's why i also made a new version of mousetrap with added difficulty, extra levels and gameplay additions

btw, it's already an older video. I changed the intro screen and some other stuff,

enjoy it!
