At g4tv

"Remember the Atari Jaguar? We sure do. Kevin Pereira, Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb and Blair Herter share their memories over the tragic history of the Atari console, which was doomed to fail from the beginning."

I can smell the fanboy rage now, it does get quite a few things wrong.

I just watched all of the "Tales from the Console Graveyard" segments. I guess the G4 interns don't know how to do research or fact-checking, because each segment had some pretty glaring errors :(

Mmmmm... Morgan Webb. Wait, is she fat now or just sporting a bad outfit?

Dude that keeps calling the Jaguar -jagwire- needs to be slapped upside his head. And hard.

Depends on where you are from. Here in the midwest and most of the US we pronounce it Jagwire for the most part. Elsewhere- Jag-U-Are. Etc etc etc

All our Jags growl just the same.

Were the commercials different depending on region? I could be wrong but "Jagwire, Jagwire, Jagwire!" is stuck in my head.

It's less 'jagwire' and more 'jagwahr' ;)

Edit: Okay, I did just watch it...the clown that made the most errors was actually calling it the Jagwire!?!?!

In 16 or 17 years of following the Jaguar (give or take a few when I didn't pay much attention), this is probably the article/video clip that is punctuated by the highest misses to hits ratio that I've ever seen/read.

Tempted to email then, or at least list the factual mistakes. Not in a childish way, but in a referenced way that points out how basic fact checking would have helped. Though I see that Mike Fulton has already started the ball running....

It was GREAT by any standards at the time... The only thing that would beat its quality is if it were on a CD. Those guys are drunk. The whole review seems as if they were just on their way out the door for the day and they had them blab for a few minutes before they got to go home.

There were times in this community when I've blabbed about things I thought I understood but were mistaken about. It emberassed the hell out of me once these things were pointed out.

Thats is how I would feel if I were these guys at G4.

They dont really care about the facts, some young researcher probably did all the (bad) work and then handed them each a piece of paper.

Its sad to think someone might decide not to try a system after listening to people who don't have a clue Tempest 2k rocks :)
