I was wondering if "Vanguard" is the only Atari 2600 game that presents you a continue option after you die.

Is there any other game with a continue screen?

Do prototypes count? :P

Moon Patrol was going to have a Continue screen but they removed it.

Actually, I was trying to remember the name of a Atari 2600 game that I played 25 years ago and one of the things I vividly remember about this game is the Continue screen.

I'm not sure if it was Vanguard or not. So, I was asking if there is any other game with a continue screen. And it's definitely not Super Cobra.

No Escape! allows you to continue with a press of the fire button after the Pegasus animation.

Yar's Revenge also allows continues without a reset.

I'm sure there are others.

Doesn't Fatal Run have a password system?

Well, Adventure technically has a 'continue' feature. If you hit reset (after being eaten by one of the dragons, for example), you are warped back to the gate of the gold castle. When you do this, all the items in the game should be where you left them. However, all dead dragons are revived, thus making a reason not to die.

Not sure about Fatal Run, but Secret Quest has a password system that allows you to continue. It's an adventure game that's too long to complete one sitting.

If you mean a password to continue then Survival Island is supposedly the first. If you mean "Press Fire to Continue " I don't know.

I thought the OP was asking for games that actually said 'Continue?' or 'Press Button to Continue' or something like that on the screen. If I'm wrong, please correct me, that is how I read it. :) This became quite common with NES and SMS games.

I'm not sure of any games with an actual continue prompt other than the ones mentioned, but games like Bump 'n Jump and Dig Dug let you continue from where you left off.
