Thats what ive gone for, nice mix of rarity and yet still pretty reasonable prices i think

One thing ive noticed though, amongst others ive managed to pick up a few that are rarity 6-8 on the PAL guide, but some that are only rated 5 or 6 dont come up any more frequently than the ones rated 6-8

I know its only a guide, but anyone else found this?

also, did all red labels originally come with this style manual?

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280690436516

as ive seen a few red carts and red label CIBs with what look like B&W versions of the silver label manuals. just wondered if there was a mix when new, or theyve just been put together from different sources since?

cheers
Paul

Yes i am!

Welcome to AA Paul!

Im only missing one cart (vanguard) of the total 48.

I also have some boxed games and they all have manuals looking like that.

One thing you really nead to know when you start collecting these are that the red boxes very often contains silver-label carts.
For an example i have never seen a red dig dug box containing a red-label cart. It seems that 99% of them have a silver cart inside the box.
A nother thing that is good to know is that all games that was reeleased before the rad-label era with other labels come with label-variations with and without a P on the serialnumber. The carts that dont have a P comes with a P-sticker often on the back of the cart. That can be a bit confusing when you collect PAL, and by from internet auction. always ask the seller if theres a P sticker on the cart.

When it comes to the rarity of these you shoulden´t use the PAL raritylist as a refrence, becouse it´s far from accurate.

Cheers!

Hello all and thanks for the welcome.

Cheers for the info re the manuals. i presume the others ive seen are just from different sources, il try to stick to the proper red label manual style then

Yea, id never buy a sealed red box tbh, unless it was cheap and i only wanted the box. you might pay a high price and still find a bog common silver cart. Ive got a red Dig Dug cart, need to pick up a red box at some point to go with it

Good luck with Vanguard :) Ive been watching ebay only for a little while but so far havent seen any red Galaxian, Dodge Em or Vanguard in any country. il be patient, might be quite a wait!

by the way, Ive got two duplicates so far, a red label Road Runner and Q-Bert (carts only) if anyone wants to swap for something similiar i havent got (red label obviously)?

Paul

Regarding the manuals it wouldent surprice me at all if some of the boxes contained other styles of manuals ocasionally.

I personally have yet to see a red-label vanguard cart, but i have seen plenty of galaxian and dodge em carts.
I regard dig dug as one of the rarest ones, so congrats on finding that one.
I have a box with manuals for sale if your intrested?

Cheers.

I cant justify spending any more money on Atari this side of payday, so if you can hold onto it until around the 25th of this month il take that, yep. thanks :)
