I don't think we've seen a Battlezone clone in bB yet. I was curious if 3D rotation examples exist for bB. If not, can anyone point me to a BASIC compatible reference?

Dark Tower style 3rd person scrolling is what I'm after:

Skyrim for the 2600? It could happen :)

That's very cool. I think the programmer was doing something a little more difficult than my idea. Plus, not BASIC. Drat!

I'd like to rotate 2D sprites on a flat 3D plane. Kind of like Battlezone. You did give me the idea to think outside BASIC examples though. I'll try dredging through my old Game Maker examples for 2D sprite/3D rotation examples.

Yeah, something like Battlezone shouldn't be too difficult. Psudo 3D vector graphics. You'll just need to know how to calculate object rotations. I've never mastered that sort of thing myself so unfortunately I won't be able to help.

Kind of related; A few years ago I tried studying raycasting techniques for making DOS (or console) type games. Even the simplest of tutorials had code that made me scratch my head. Hopefully a Battlefield type game will be easier to make.
