If you don't search things on AA before posting, I suggest you just make one giant post featuring all of your questions so we don't lose sight of the other threads here. Also, I think you will be getting less and less help, and a colder welcome if you keep posting countless no-brain questions every day. Seriously- search these things. There is a wealth of knowledge here. No stone has been un-turned on these forums.

I was starting to write something similar, but this is about as diplomatic as it gets. Let your fingers do the walking. :)

Not sure what's worse - the blatant piracy, the lack of concern about being so public about it or the fact that a skunk will probably end up in these hands rather than those of a developer.

Have you looked in the rarity guides on AA? For the 2600, 7800, 5200 and Lynx you can download most of the game ROMs that have been dumped. The only exceptions in the databases are homebrew games (where the developer didn't provide a ROM) and some titles that have been pulled at the original IP owners request (Activision springs to mind) and some of the prototypes.

Its rather naive to think that every skunkboard is in a developer's hands. If that were the case the Jag scene would have 200+ developers. Which it quite clearly doesn't.

Not saying they should all go to developers, just that there's a difference between people using them for homebrews and betas and those using them for piracy so they don't have to pay a tenner for Bubsy. If it wasn't for the Ghost run for example I wouldn't have a Skunk and I intend to use it for development. It seems a waste for people to use them to play games they could buy legitametly.

I'd love to have a skunkboard one day, just to be able to play homebrews. If the rom is freely available I say its ok, but If its not and you are doing it just to not have to buy the games then shame on you.

i somewhat agree with you.... though i think its perfectly fine to use it to play games you CAN'T afford cause some sellers think there worth there weight in gold!!! i refer you to d!ckheads like this ( eBay Auction -- Item Number: 370525333129 )

Except you don't have to get a new copy of that game. You can get a used copy for much less than the cost of a Skunkboard.

I don't think that there are 400+ Skunkboards in the hands of just developers, but I do think that a lot of people are buying them for the possibility of playing future games that are made on them. I really don't think that too many, "Hey, I'll get a Jaguar and just this cartridge" people are buying them, or at least it hasn't in any way seemed that way from the sales we have made.

thats just an example of outrageous prices, agreed, you can get most of the games for less than a price of a skunkboard, and i own most games (would love to own them all as i prefer orig carts over digi copies) but there are some i'd like to have, its not that i cant afford to, but just can't justify the price of some games and won't give in to overpriced games and greedy sellers!

main thing that inspired me to buy a skunkboard was Kobayashi Maru (just have to play it on the real thing!!!) and some other homebrew's. and cant wait to have my skunkboard! (damn international post!)
