From the stories I've read.... and I'm sure there are a lot I haven't read.... none of them have complained that the controller is too cumbersome or uncomfortable. Most have said its very light, has a nice layout, is easy to use, and very responsive.
Plus, all the stories I've read/seen have said that switching between playing a game on a TV screen and on the tablet screen is almost flawless and impressive.
I had said in another thread that I was perfectly happy playing Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, etc in 480p. But I have to admit that Zelda looked excellent in HD and really packed a WOW factor for me.
While I'm still not instantly sold on buying the Wii-U (or any new console for that matter), I was really impressed by the demo I posted. I could see playing the game on the TV while using the tablet to control your backpack and the items within. Assigning items to slots, such as potions or weapons, would be really easy to do and easy/quick to use.
I can see potential in using a tablet as a controller. But I can also see how it could also be kind of a gimmick, and as am example, I cannot see... for myself.... any enjoyment benefit from laying it on the floor to have it display a golf ball in Mario Golf.
I'll continue to wait and watch to see what the system can really do and what the price will be.
