The ideas are obviously similar.
Acid Drop is quite fun to play. Probably one of the more playable titles on the VCS.

Depends on which order you believe 1984 and 1992 to have occured in.

not even close.
the orginal USA Atari arcade Tetris was released in 1988.
Spectrum Holobyte computer versions predate even that.
Salu's Acid Drop is from 1992.

Yeah, sorry, my old eyes are giving me problems. I misread the published date as 1982 instead of 1992.

I think the more interesting question is, by how long does dropping acid predate tetris and was said event involved anywhere in tetris' development...
