Hello guys

There are more then enough "non-standard" RTC's. Guus did at least two of those BTW.

What we want is "standard" RTC's, that can use the "standard" drivers.

In my Atari 600XL I built in a I2C DS1307 Arduino RTC. With the help of Bob1200XL I wrote a little program that downloads (or sets) time/date from RTC and puts this in Sparta System Clock.

This works great, but... Fox-1 already told me (a few times) that this is not a REAL solution, since it is like apetime. It downloads the time/date only once the tool is started, and that's it.

Could someone explain me how I could write a compatible driver, so the time/date of this RTC is used 'realtime' (I mean: that the time/date that SpartaDos 3.3 uses is always 100% in sync with the built in DS1307 RTC)?

A source of the discussed Z: driver would be nice, and perhaps an explanation how that works.

For those who are interested and missed it:
For the Ultimate 1MB upgrade I also wrote a time/date downloader. This "ultime.com" file downloads time/date from Ultimate1MB RTC and puts it in SpartaDos 3.3 system clock. Appears to work too with RealDos.

It is pretty beat up and old, I'd never sell it in its condition.
The key part on it is the M3002 and as long this one is working the condition doesn't matter. When dropping the pass-thru part it isn't difficult to make one yourself from the ground up.

Now I have 20 caps, a crystal can, another 16 pin socket and another 138.
Now try to locate some M3002's and start making a new batch :-)

edit: sp.

I don't know how to make the printed circuit board. Heh.
Somebody else told of putting a 2032 battery holder in, so I did it. This goes back to a thread where I replaced the chip (not the clock chip) with a socket and new chip. I had wires soldered in to a
two AAA, external holder. Now it is fixed.
