Well, I picked up the item earlier today. Pay $1.05 in cash and despite the fact that I told him repeatedly all he had to do was mark it payment received he kept going on and I was like "whatever."

I declined the sale cancellation and noted "that I paid for and picked up the item locally"..then I get this from the jackass:

Quote

Sorry man. Since you rejected the cancellation offer i am being charged by ebay for the final value fees of the amount invoiced with the sale price. Since you only paid 1.05. $14.99 is the difference.

Ha! What a jackass!

Now, question is can eBay bilk my Paypal account for this?

Wait, he conjures up this fake cancellation offer, blaming YOU for bidding by mistake and since you refused to accept his stupidity he wants you to pay for his screw up??!! :-o

Why is ebay charging him a percentage of postage costs? Did you select local pickup? If he tells ebay that it wasn't posted, they will charge him the correct amount.

Send him a sausage pic. Hard or flaccid - up to you.

ebay recently started charging including shipping as part as their FVF. Agreed that they should of only based their FVF on the $1.0x that was high bid and not have included shipping.

I got a Genny for $1 on eBay once.

Actually, there were two model 1 Gennies in that box. And a model 2. And some hookups, two adapters, a few controllers (third party ones and one first party pre-Majesco six-button), and one or two games.

I felt kind of bad, I was willing to pay much more, but nobody tried to outbid me. Don't remember what the shipping was, but it was reasonable (especially for such a huge box).

Really? I didn't know this. I always do free shipping anyways but good to know incase I don't some day. Heavier items like Slot Machines/etc I can't really do free shipping on since there will be a huge difference depending on the location....

I try to do free shipping also - it saves the headache of FVF shipping costs that eXtortion Bay has resorted to. But you are correct, heavier items are more difficult to sell with free shipping. Smaller, first class postage items for a couple of bucks work the best. I hope all works out for rmaerz (except it stinks that the Genny's controller ports were non functional).

By the by, if you're competent with a soldering and desoldering iron, you could probably resolder the controller ports to the board - 9/10 times that fixes controller port issues.

Good to hear you got the system, though.

No he ripped me off of that as well! :)

Check this out...when I was there to pick up the Genny, as we were talking he gets on eBay and cancels the transactions for the NES and SNES lot. He asked me if I was interested in any of that stuff and I said I'd give him $5 for the Super Mario World cart for the SNES since it was a duplicate. He still has the SNES listed on CraigsList so buyer beware:

http://harrisburg.cr...2811680300.html

He said he wasn't going to sell the Super Mario World cart for that price because "eBay says its worth...." LOL

I said "yeah OK - look up Pac-Man for the 2600 and see what eBay says. The game's only worth 50 cents."

He typed "Packman" in the search box...I was like seriously this guy doesn't know how to spell Pac-Man...

No spongebob :(

Active listing with no bids don't really tell you how much a game is worth. You need to look at completed ebay sales to get an idea how much people are willing to pay. Interesting that Super Mario World only goes for $5 or less on ebay.com. It's easy to sell the PAL version for $16 on ebay.com.au.

I looked up his CL ad - where are the friggin pics? Seriously, why do people put ads on CL and post no pics? This clown probably also tried to look up the value of 'Dephender' and couldn't find anything.

Thank you. I'll never understand why people think something is$xx.xx simply because somebody else is trying to get that price. Common sense tells me you have to look at completed auctions.

I'm surprised he even listed the games. Most of the knuckle draggers where I live only say "Nintendo system. werks good and controlers and cabels and sum gaems with it"

Seriously. Especially cars, Apartments, and houses! How can you NOT have a picture of that? Digital cameras are practically FREE nowadays.

Is there someplace to download your music? I would gladly pay $1.03 plus shipping for an album, or I could pick it up locally on my bike.

Seriously- I like this music and would enjoy a copy for working out or scaring the neighbors etc.
