Sorry to spam the forum with this, but I've been pretty surprised at the lack of participation in the Genesis HSC, considering the seemingly high demand for one every time the subject has been broached over the past couple of years.

I'm starting to wonder if people just don't know that it's there, since the Genesis sub-forum is a relatively low-traffic place. I just restarted it this week so that it can be part of the AA-wide knockout competition, so now is a great time to start playing.

Here's the link, for those interested:

Again, sorry for the spam.

Thanks,

Chris

truxton's not a terribly common/cheap game, and the whole idea of a seasonal 'knockout' has me avoiding it even though I'm currently heavily into a 'genesis phase.'

it's certainly on my list to buy, but there's little chance of me getting onboard with the season by the due date.

Truxton *is* a terribly common/cheap game.

I just don't play Genesis anymore. I might have played for 2 hours in the last 12 years.

My earlier search of ebay showed it in the $15 (minimum) range. That would put it well above all but a very few genesis titles and it doesn't frequently pop up in common lots. Good for you if you stumbled over it for cheap or easy, but in my 150+ genesis games, I haven't a single copy.

I also notice the hsc moderator 'like' on that post.

I thought it was a fun-sounding idea to start it, but be patient - it may need time to kick in and get support.

Personally, I didn't have time to join in for HSC1 - SOR2. It was just the wrong time for me, too busy.

I don't own HSC2 or HSC3 games (Castlevania Bloodlines/G&G) and I don't own the HSC Truxton game either, although I can look at The Exchange this week and see if they have an old copy. I don't like playing Genesis games on emulation either but maybe I should try that again someday.

I actually own Truxton, but never actually found a copy. I had to buy mine from Sega in '99. Ironically, I've never played it once.

No Truxton at The Exchange. Probably the reason I don't own it is I never saw it , or never saw it affordable.

I wonder if it has to partially do with area. I tend to see Truxton around more than any other shooter on the Genesis. I did notice eBay prices on it have risen it a bit, but I'd hardly say it's not affordable.

Yeah, and I was unnecessarily grumpy when I wrote that. It's not like it's musha-priced.
In my travels, it's actually Lightening Force that I keep finding deals on. (though oddly not the other thunder forces)

I'll get truxton one of these days.
