Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question but I was wondering if there were any reliable clone systems for the 2600 besides a modded Flashback 2. I've seen tons of clone NES, SNES, Genesis, and even Turbographix 16 systems and legality shouldn't be an issue since patents expire after 20 years.

I assume you mean modern clones, not clones from the same time period.

A number of Atari's competitors made clones or add-on modules, including:

Coleco Gemini
Coleco Colecovision Expansion Module #1
Intellivision 2 System Changer Module

Atari themselves made the Atari 7800 backwards compatible and released a system changer (CX-55) for the Atari 5200.

That's just weird! What other 2600 clones were there beyond the Sears systems?

Far too many to mention. There were a great many that came out of Taiwan, Japan, Sth America and even some from Australia.

My personal fave is this:

just click the link and go to clone heaven :) but a really neat looking console is this one:

I remember one that had the general shape of a 400 8-bit computer but had the cart slot and no keyboard, switches on top. Very weird looking, and I still am hunting one.

/edit and here is one :D: http://produto.merca...om-saida-av-_JM
