I can't wait to see this. I hope they somehow get Fred Savage to cameo. :)

I am very excited about this movie. Appearently all of the overhead was raised by donations alone, so that the Nerd can have full creative control. I have enjoyed Mr. Rolfe's videos for a long time now and wish him success.

I have to say, that the massive third sentence of this paragraph of Mr Warshaw's blog post made me grin.

"Why did they send me the script? Well, it turns out I’m actually IN the movie. So they figured since I’m a real person and I’m in the movie and I’m actually me and they wanted to use me as me in the actual movie and I didn’t even know yet that I was me in the movie although I did know I was me but I didn’t know I was in the movie, they had better let me know that I was in the movie as me and let me see if after I knew I was me playing me in the movie that I would be okay with being me in the movie as myself now that I knew there was actually a movie with me in it. Maybe that’s too much legalese, but that’s what movies are all about."

Warshaw writes in the same way in his book, Conquering College. His writing style shouldn't work, but it does! I recommended the book to my students (mostly college freshmen) this semester.

i understand why people dislike him, but the first minute of this video shows me that he 'gets it'

youll have a hard time finding a more eloquent description of the 2600. he also gets bonus points for being a bit too young to remember the 2600 in its heyday. making a movie about ET and including HSW in the production seals the deal. he is treating the material with far more respect than he was expected to.

Maybe he matured or I just don't like the guy...for me the latter and I feel better about it...

The 5200 is one of my favorite consoles, and that's one of my favorite AVGN episodes. He did a good job of poking fun at the system...and what you're likely to get if you buy one randomly on eBay.
