I live in Australia and i was wondering if any of these will work with a american atari jaguar ?

sega master system 2 ac adaptor

specs > input 240 v 50hz 15 w output 9V dc 1A center polarity

Atari flashback ac adaptor input 240 v 50hz output 9V 300mA center polarity

stepdown transformer input 230 v 50hz output 110 v 24VA max center polarity

and i have a sega megadrive 2 ac adaptor but heard that may fry the jaguar

do any of these work ??? or do i need a new stepdown transformer and official american jag power supply ???

Jaguar is 9V 1.2A centre negative. I use my UK power packs for all UK/European/US Jaguars. Rob Webb's site is good when you want to check power packs. He sells UK Jag packs for £6, further down the page they are listed again with a list of other machines they're compatible with (you can see the pack on its side about 3/4 down the page) so you can compare with what you might have.

This one doesn't need a stepdown transformer. But the polarity isn't shown on the sticker, so unless it's written elsewhere or you've got a multimeter to check, you shouldn't use it since it could fry your Jaguar if the polarity is wrong.

ok i might steer clear of that 9v adaptor ummm would my 230 v 50hz output 110 v 24VA max center polarity stepdown transformer run a Official Atari jaguar power supply ? or do i need a new transformer that is 240V with 120v output ?

IIRC, the Sega CD's power supply is a good match for the Jaguar: I used it on mine for years afyer mine failed (changing the PS saved me form persistent red screen issues). Are its specs the same as the Master Sytem supply? If so, I'd use it.

Have you checked the output voltage of the power supply to make sure it is working?
If it is working then...
a) Did you have a cartridge inserted when testing as the Jaguar will not power up without one.
b) IC U38 (an MC34163) often gets fried as people use an non official power supply of the wrong polarity. They are replaceable if you have the skills and tools available to do so.

Thankyou Guys i know nothing about fixing electronics i tried several times to try put cybermorph in still wont power on ! so its either my 230v transformer or the Jaguar itself is fried because the same transformer powers my japanese dreamcast ,japanese 3d0 and a famicom clone i am just going to cut my losses and buy a new jaguar sometime in the near future =)
