Who is the actor in the Star Wars arcade commerical for the 2600? He reminds me of the doctor hologram from Star Trek Voyager but younger and with hair. What video game store lets you take a game out of the box and play it on a machine in the store before buying it?

Actually, I remember some stores WOULD do that back in the day. I remember buying Surround after just such a demo.

I only remember being able to play whatever game was in the locked kiosk. Played many a game of Space Invaders and Asteroids at my local Ames Department Store. Played some Atari 800XL games at my local "Service Merchandise" store too, but I could never pick out a game and plug it in myself.

Can't help you w/ the actor.

But, as far as playing games in stores.... Inever recall a store actually opening a boxed game and testing it out. I do
remember playing kiosk units at Kmart and Woolco. My local Camelot music store also had a kiosk. (After seeing pics,
I believe it was the Imagic one.)
