I like to handle fires that have gone out by pouring lighter fluid followed by lit matches upon them. I'm smart!

Both of us are done. He moved on. We stopped.

Your lame attempt to play sheriff of poopsville is only going to start another argument.

Seriously, now it's not even me or Nord hijacking the thread, it's you. You weren't involved and now you won't let it go. I actually have to recontribute something so this derails the thread less than your post.

Your incendiary replies, continual butchering of my quotes, and your inability to understand my point (something you accuse others of, ironically) are what's keeping me posting. But I can only spend so much time on adolescent posters such as yourself. You may not be old enough to remember this but: Plonk!

I have now become the problem I was speaking out against.

You keep posting due to being an adolescent poster that feels the need to have the last word, despite that you are saying nothing. Your intentions were good, but now you have allowed me to manipulate you into being on the same level you accuse me of being at.

In other words, you're my slave.

So, dance. Dance for me. Post again. Give me one of those "I'm done" posts, only to follow up with another post reminding me how done you are.

I don't like that people are accepting the premise that game companies have a legitimate argument to still own a game after it's purchased by a consumer. That's what a product key is, and that's what the threat against used game sales is. I cannot stand Gamestop's policies and the way they sell opened games as new etc...but damn, there is no right for a game company to claim ownership rights to used games.

I can't believe there are people on here that would accept that premise and are admitting they'd be satisfied with that model as long as the price was lower than normal. Would you accept that model for your DVDs? What about your books, should writers own the books you've bought from them?

The console world should just go to all digital downloads at this point, the game companies are pushing so hard to control sales I think it's inevitable anyway. I mean, they could cut out used game sales completely by only offering a download for their game delivery. I think that's foolish, but as long as it's cheaper right guys?

Sorry to derail this great thread but,.....what kind of jacked gamestops are you guys going to? I have never purchased a NEW game at gamestop that has had it's seal broken. And I have alot.....i mean alot of new games ive purchased from them. Ive never once had a seal broken on a game for any console, handheld or pc.

Unfortunately it's pretty standard practice these days. Either your gamestop is a shining exception, or you're only buying the most common (AAA) titles on launch day.

It does happen. Gamestop will open the game and remove the disc so its case can be used for display, keep the disc behind the counter, then eventually sell it as "new". This happened to me at the store in Moore, OK, which caused me to stop frequenting that store. The employees also apparently take the "new" games home and play with them, yet despite the game being used in every sense of the word, it's sold as "new".

Yea, that happened to me years ago. Went to my local GameStop to buy a MechAssault, new, for Xbox. And as I stand there and watch he taked an opened case, reaches behind the counter, grabs a disc sleve, and puts the 'new' disc into the opened case. "Will that be cash or credit?". Today I would have walked out of the store....but back then I bought the game, but from that day on I won't buy a new game from GameStop.
